Ekpeye King Hails Fubara, IG, CP Over 2Baba's Killing

A first class traditional ruler in Rivers State, Eze Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, has hailed the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara; the Inspector General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun; and the state Police Commissioner, Olatunji Disu; over the successful neutralisation of the most wanted killer of the late DPO of Ahoada Police Station, SP Bako Angbashim.

Anugwo said that the killing of the kidnap and cult kingpin at Ebrass has rekindled the hopes of the people for a safer community and state.

In a statement, Anugwo also thanked the security agencies for sustaining the heat on the most wanted kingpin, and successfully eliminating him with a view to making the area safer for residents.

The statement, titled: "MURDER OF SP BAKO: EZE EKPEYE LOGBO COMMENDS GOVERNOR SIMINALAYI FUBARA, IG OF POLICE AND RIVERS POLICE COMMISSIONER FOR THE KILLING OF PRIME SUSPECT, DAVID OKPARA ALSO KNOWN AS 2BABA", read:

The Eze Ekpeye Logbo III of Ekpeye land, His Imperial Majesty Eze Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, PhD., DSSRS has commended the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS for his proactiveness in arresting security situation in the state particularly, in Ekpeye land.

This follows the news about the killing of prime suspect in the murder of SP Bako Amgbashim, Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Police Division, David OKPARA also known as 2Baba.

Recall that 2Baba and his cult gang were responsible for the killing of SP Bako in a viral video they displayed after killing the senior police officer which made the Rivers State Government to place a bounty of one hundred million naira on 2Baba for anyone with useful information that could lead to his arrest and prosecution.

Playing hard to get, it took the combined efforts of the security agencies before 2Baba was fatally wounded and his dead body recovered at Ebrass community in Ahoada West LGA of Rivers State.

The Eze Ekpeye Logbo III, Eze Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo praised the efforts of the inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and the Rivers State Police Commissioner, Olatunji Disu for the bravity displayed by their men noting that the killing of 2Baba will no doubt bring relative peace to Ekpeye land.

The Eze Ekpeye Logbo expressed sadness that SP Bako Amgbashim, who was posted to Ahoada Police Division as a professional police officer could be so killed in such a brutal manner.

He, however, thanked the security agencies for bringing the perpetrator to book.

The Ekpeye monarch used the occasion to warn other misguided youths still in the bush to surrender themselves to the security agencies for a complete peace in Ekpeye as what befell 2Baba will soon befall them as the government of Sir Siminalayi Fubara is determined to bring lasting peace to not just Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality but, to Rivers State at large.

The Eze Ekpeye Logbo pledged his commitment to promoting peace and development in the land while also supporting the security agencies to rid the area of crime and criminality.

He called on the people of Ekpeye to go about their normal business and also be vigilant so as to report suspected cases of crime in their area.
