Nollywood Stars, VIPs Storm Hotel Lambaba’s Media Screening In Lagos •As Movie Premieres, June

The Ebonylife Place, Victoria Island, Lagos was the place to be on Thursday April 27, 2023, as Nollywood stars and top personalities from all walks of life gathered for the media screening of the highly anticipated comedy-drama thriller, Hotel Lambaba.

Hosted by Tomiwa Sage, the media screening was graced by cast members including Lilian Afegbai, BBNaija season four ex-housemate; Sir Dee, Kachi Nnochiri, Etinosa Idemudia, Bolaji Ogunmola, Tracey George, and a host of other dignitaries.

Set from the desks of the acclaimed filmmakers, Biodun Stephen and Laide Daramola, Hotel Lambaba is a story about the mysterious murder of a popular Instagram influencer. Her death is known by only those who want exclusivity or something to hide.

The movie features elaborate set pieces, investigative scenes, engaging dialogue, balanced by an exciting comedy and relatable story at its core. Directed by Biodun Stephens and produced by Laide Daramola, Hotel Lambaba parades A-list actors like Lateef Adedimeji, Bimbo Ademoye, Bolaji Ogunmola, Blessing Jessica Obasi, and Femi Adebayo.

Speaking at the event, the executive producer, Laide Daramola, said the cast of the film “were hand selected for each role, and the beautiful thing was seeing them evolve and redesign each role to fit the look and feel of the movie.”

On her part, director of the movie, Biodun Stephen noted: “My experiences shape the storylines of my movies, which is what make them very relatable and exciting to watch. The story of Hotel Lambaba started from a conversation with a friend about Slay queens and Yahoo boys, and I’m happy to have been a part of this movie.”

The guests at the event were all dressed in their glitz and glam, and their reactions to Hotel Lambaba were absolutely exciting.  With an exciting set piece, murder mystery and well grounded storytelling, Hotel Lambaba definitely was a thrilling experience for them.

Meanwhile, Hotel Lambaba will premiere on the global streaming service in June, 2023, and will be distributed by Cinemax.

Nigeria Lost N16.25trn To Oil Theft, NEITI Alleges

The Executive Secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Ogbonnaya Orji, has revealed that Nigeria lost over N16.25trillion due to oil theft in the country. Orji, who made the revelation to the House Committee on Public Accounts, during an interactive session in Abuja, also claimed that $74.386billion was spent on fuel subsidy by successive administrations since 2011. According to him, the agency has compiled the actual amount paid as subsidy on yearly basis.  Orji claimed that the compilation was based on data collated and signed off by operators in the industry and other stakeholders. According to him, NEITI also uncovered over $8.3billion unremitted revenue by some privately owned oil firms and Federal Government-owned Agencies which was not paid into the Federation Account, in deviant to provisions in the extant financial regulations. Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the decisions taken by his administration in the evolving political crisis in the state were not borne out of fear, but for peace to reign in the state. The governor made this known while addressing Rivers people at the maiden state banquet held by his administration at Government House, Port Harcourt on Monday to celebrate the New Year.
