286-Man Transition, Inauguration Committee For Fubara, Ordu On May 29

The Rivers State Government has named 286 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and some loyalists of Governor Nyesom Wike in the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) to plan activities for the transition of the government to its terminus on May 28, and inauguration of the new government on May 29, in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The inauguration cum swearing in committee, which was given its terms of reference at a ceremony in Government House, Port Harcourt, on Saturday, April 29, by the state's outgoing governor, is a convergence of key players in the political, religious, traditional and community leadership space across the 23 local government areas.

Rivers State House of Assembly has screened and  confirmed Opobo-born Barrister Lawrence Oko-Jaja, SAN, as Chairman of the Board of Rivers State Bureau on Public Procurement (RSBoPP). Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and his wife Lady Valerie Fubara, have commended the extraordinary resilience and creative ingenuities of women and girls, which they said have helped propel sustainable development in the society.
